THOROUGHLY INCORRECT
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
Pueblo de Vacas Studios LLC operates Thoroughly Incorrect. This policy explains what information this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the site, provide the podcast, respond to messages, understand general listening activity, and protect our forms from abuse.
- Listening and progress data: when an episode is played or downloaded through this site or a podcast app, we may record the episode, IP address, timestamp, user agent, and the podcast app or source when it can be identified. The web player also saves listening position, duration, percentage played, and completion status so it can resume an episode.
- Approximate location: we may use the IP address associated with listening activity to derive a general city, region, and country through a local GeoLite2 lookup. This is used for aggregate listener statistics and is not intended to identify your precise location.
- Contact and sponsorship information: if you use a form, we collect the name, email address, message, and—on the sponsorship form—company name and budget range that you provide. A verification code is sent to the email address before a message is delivered.
- Form security information: we record information such as IP address, form name, submission status, optional email or other detail, and timestamp to rate-limit abuse, investigate spam, and protect the forms.
Cookies
The web player uses first-party cookies to remember episode progress and which episodes you have listened to. These cookies are named episode_progress and episodes_listened and are intended to last up to one year. The contact and sponsorship forms use a temporary first-party session cookie while you submit and verify a message.
You can delete or block these cookies in your browser. If you do, the player may not be able to resume your position or remember listened episodes, and forms may not work correctly.
How we use information
- to deliver, secure, and improve the website and podcast player;
- to resume your listening and calculate aggregate listening statistics;
- to respond to contact and sponsorship inquiries;
- to send verification codes you request and prevent automated abuse; and
- to maintain the site, troubleshoot errors, and comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
We do not use this site to sell personal information or serve third-party behavioral advertising. We may share or make information available to service providers that help us host the site, store its operational data, deliver email, or protect the service. These providers receive information only as needed for those purposes.
The site links to or displays content from third-party services, including Spotify, YouTube, RSS platforms, and the Pueblo de Vacas shop. If you follow one of those links, that service may collect information directly under its own privacy policy and terms.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including operating the podcast, responding to inquiries, maintaining aggregate statistics, and preventing abuse. IP-based listener and progress records may remain in our operational database while they are useful for those purposes. Form security records may be retained to identify repeat abuse.
We use HTTPS, access controls, and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask us to review, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask a question about this policy, by emailing contact@thoroughlyincorrect.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may need to be retained for security, legal, or operational reasons.
Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply, you may have additional rights concerning access, deletion, correction, portability, or limits on certain uses of personal information.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We may update this policy when the site or our information practices change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version. Your continued use of the site after an update means the revised policy applies to future use.
